No. But xris did. Then it doesn't really matter to this debate. (You should still read up on what those words really mean.)
The only reason I brought it up was because he claimed that scientists are open to anything.
I showed him an example where they are not.
And he responded with reasons why it is a good idea to suppress these opinions.

Yeah, I have. I've read articles on the subject and I've seen a wonderful PBS documentary on the matter. The fact is that creationism is a religious belief that some try to superimpose onto science. That you do not believe this makes me worry about what sort of misinformation you have stumbled onto.

EmperorNero wrote:

Well, essentially they are. Scientists, however, also look for evidence for a hypothesis. They are critical. Because the evidence for creationism is nonexistent, because creationism is not an explanatory thesis (it cannot account for reality), creationism is not taken seriously by the scientific community.

I cannot speak for xris, but with respect to creationism, the idea is not to suppress the opinions, but instead disseminate truth. The truth that creationism is nonsense and cannot hold up under scrutiny. The truth that creationism is thinly veiled religious belief being sold as science.

Are you really that obtuse or is it an act? Claiming that teachers not being allowed to advance creationism in the class room is a sign of scientist closed mindedness, its not the mind of a reasonable thinker.

I'm your best friend, most will give you up when you just keep denying reality, but I will hang in there to enlighten you.

Hasn't a thread reached its apex when original harrassment stops and links and videos are thrown up willy nilly?

@EmperorNero,
Nero - did you actually read the last link you posted? It's a blog in which the author criticizes an article by someone who, like you, denies global warming.

Have you read that article?did you read that link to the newscientist?There are two views and then there is evidence and the evidence demands you believe that the recent increase is more prolonged and greater than any historic localised increase or decrease in temperatures.

@EmperorNero,
I watched your video and six more that followed.He gave good account of himself and appeared a reasonable weather expert, who gave reasons why he believed we have not got global warming and the co emissions have no effect on our enviroment.
To be honest i thought he might have point that is worthy of investigation. i then checked his opinions against the opposite view and also the independents view.He fails to mention that the extremes of temperature we have had in history are local climatic changes.He also does not answer the facts that ice core samples give a depressing story that this is the quickest and fastest levels of global warming in the last million years.Now that was my reaction what was yours.".Ye i read em wot about this then." grow up please and treat the subject with something like reason please..

@EmperorNero,
That picture in my last post was about Y2K. You know, when planes where falling out of the sky and there was chaos.
Oh right, nothing happened. It a phony fear.
Such as eugenics, global cooling, nuclear winter, mass starvation, cancer from powerlines and like a list that s a page long.
Next one on the list: global warming. Well, it's already there, they switched to climachange, as the world has been cooling for half a decade.
Don't be a sheep, they create some hype fear, make money off it for a while and then everybody forgets about.
I bet you 100 bucks that in 6 years global warming will be considered utterly ridiculous.

I give up with you because you wont or cant debate the figures that are available.Your rhetoric and lack of informative discussion is not going to be dented by my reasons.I dont suppose you even bothered to read that last independent article because your blinkered with desire rather than informed debate.Adios Amigo..
