Apparently, this film reviewer wasn't at the showing where Noah Thomson was "ambushed" by current Family members. Nevertheless, it provides interesting insight into the film for those of us who haven't had a chance to see it yet.

More Slamdance coverage in the blogs. This one has a pic of Family members being questioned by police at the scene of the crime.

Run-of the mill blog about the documentary "kerfuffle" that's featuring the response posted by "Guest Worker":

Compilation of material related to Cult Killer and Family child abuse allegations on a forensic psychology blog.

The Family got an entry into the High Wierdness Project, which promotes information for the newly developing field of crockpotology. Under the auspices of the Church of the SubGenius. Entry links to xfamily. Hmmm...where have I heard about this Church before?

In Spirit - this video was inspired by the whole incident surrounding Ricky Rodriguez, who was in the inner circle of The Children of God. I really liked how this video turned out - further direction towards “subliminal videosâ€

Blogger tags COG/TF as "child haters." Makes a decent rant against people who blame the victim.

Interesting to see who's bloggnig about The Family these days. Queer Eye Korea bloged the following on River Phoenix on February 11, 2007, with a link to the cult killer story at the RickRoss website:

"River Phoenix violated the cult's stricture of secrecy by discussing his early sexuality with reporters. Two years later, on All Hallow's Eve, at the most critical period in the Family's history, he was poisoned with a drug overdose. Had he lived, River Phoenix could have proven to be a dangerous liability to the cult, confirming reports of sexual abuse and child prostitution circulating throughout South America, but largely snubbed by the domestic press. Moses Berg's Family have slept with powerful political allies."

I seriously doubt The Family had anything to do with River's overdose. It doesn't sound like any of the retaliation stunts they've pulled prior or since.

I totally agree with you. I just thought it was an interesting perception of TF as an all-powerful clandestine cult on the order of the Mafia, a perception I've found in other places, such as the following blog:

http://againstcommies009.blogspot.com/search?q=Zerby

In this case, Zerby and Company are at the center of a conspiracy theory because of their funding to J. Gordon Melton. The blogger also speculates that Zerby & Berg were recruited as KGB assets.

Yeah, all this is just a lot of mis-information. I wish, instead, the blogger would just reference Berg & Zerby's writings on anti-semitism.

Very interesting Family blogspot where SGAs actually question and think logically about a number of issues of concern to them. This particular blog is called MyConclusions.blogspot.com, although there's another blogs linked to it.

http://the-cog.uni.cc/

The February 12 blog is particularly interesting:

Quote:
We made this blog so that anyone who is searching for
answers, who has questions, or wants to help build strong facts,
could freely share whatever they have on this blog. Everyone
in the Family has questions very similar to what we have and
it isn’t good to keep it all in.

I almost didn't link this blog here because I'd hate to see hostile apostates go off half-cocked and interrupt what is essentially a private, in-house conversation with irrelevant issues to the people who read and post on this blog. Then I thought, how long will it be before the Family's brain police shut this down? This blog provides a rare glimpse into the people behind the curtain at myconclusion.com--and a ray of hope that even the most endoctrinated ("sold-out") people can question their constructions of reality.

I just checked the link posted above...you have to click on the link to "masquerade" to get to the really interesting conversation in which young Family members show a capacity for critical thinking. Not all of them, of course, but enough to make the blog interesting.
