@Philosopher Jay,
I divide my critique of what I consider to be a beautiful woman into two distinct groups? popular conception of beauty and personal conception of beauty. The popular conception always manages to seep into the personal conception, but it is definitely not the contributing things to what I consider beautiful.
As far as it goes with the popular conception of beauty, I remember reading somewhere (probably maxim) that they had a survey which concluded guys in the late 80's, early 90's were so into the blond, anorexic, hilariously huge breasted women. Now, the average male preference is going towards the opposite, the dark haired, average weight, average proportioned woman. I don't know if it's male attention span or what not, but it's interesting to note that preferences are not really a life time thing, but sway with various factors. I agree because what I thought was hot a year ago is not hot this year. I get bored real easily as you can probably figure out. So, if the academically informed polling methods used by Maxim have anything to say on the matter, maybe men consider normal looking women more attractive now than the artificial look a while ago.
As for me and my personal conception of beauty, I am definitely into the more classic beauty than the more modern over-the-top look. And when I say classic beauty, I mean
classic classic, like historical beauty. Dark hair, brown eyes, average weight, etc. A celebrity benchmark I can think of is between 70% Amelia Warner (Lorna Doone
is hot) and 30% Penelope Cruz . I initially went after my fianc? on those benchmarks

. But then again, there are many women that have the exact opposite that are just as classic, so I have to appreciate that as well. Trend wise, I prefer their own personal style rather than clich? popular style. I really can't stand the pop-tart look? it looks ridiculous. Also, I think that for a woman to be considered beautiful in my mind, she also has to look healthy as well. A woman can have the most beautiful colored eyes in the world, but if they are blood-shot, it's really says something about the way they treat their body. The same thing applies to skin. I have to say I love the pure look of skin, from porcelain white to a beautiful ebony and everything in between. But if you don't take care of yourself, it definitely shows up in the biggest organ of your body? your skin. Women that tan excessively in order to get some artificial level of skin tone are
not hot at all. This one woman I know has been tanning for god knows how long, and she has developed such a bad texture of skin, specially on her chest, that it looks like she's a 50 year old, Miami situated, grandma?. and she is 27 years old. It is very sad, but hey, in her mind as long as she has that skin color it's fine, right? And also on that note, if the skin is really nice, there is no need for any make-up at all. Natural beauty is all a woman needs to be beautiful in my book.
I would also like a double cheese burger, a big mac, and a large coke as well (as long as we are ordering) LOL!
