Those who categorise people into two types, and those who don't.

Where do you belong?

Those who don't probably have more specific classification process for categorizing people. So instead of two categories, there's more like ten or a hundred. But the point being, they still categorize people.

Every great lie begins with the Line: There are only two kinds of people in this world....
In the sense of men and women; perhaps..

We know nothing until we can move from the specific to the general...Philosophy is a general study, and we want to take life lessons from it... It does not mean that specific information is not of value, but we should, I think, we think, be able to move from mototcycle maintainance to philosophy and back again... And since I have done both, I think there is some truth to it... Philosophy made me a better ironworker, and ironwork made me a better philosopher than I would have been without it...Compared to people, iron is as soft as butter...

The first. But what categories I use depends on how I'm feeling.

When I'm in football mode there are two categories of people: Arsenal fans and non-Arsenal fans.

When I'm driving there are two categories of people: stupid taxi drivers and everyone else.

When I'm cycling to work there are two categories of people: stupid bus drivers and everyone else.

etc

@josh0335,
Others may judge you but they cant judge themselves, so who am I ? I dont know. I'm only in my sixties, I have a long way to go before I decide.

I would have to disagree with this thread.

1) there are far more people than just those 2 kinds.

2) maybe for you there are only these 2 kinds.

3) I don't understand why you would only see it black and white.

I got a bit of a chuckle when I first saw this thread; not in a diminutive or condescending manner, but more of a "oh, another word puzzle"-sentiment.
Logically: If you've ever categorized people at all, on any occasion, then by the parameters of the question you'd fall into this hypothetical category of those who do. If you've never categorized people, ever, then by the same parameters set forth in the question you'd be one who doesn't.
Of course, by categorizing those who do or don't categorize, you've just categorized; a sort of "I gotcha!"-moment. I see a lot of these pop up; where declared preconditions stated in a question end up being posed as the main question.

@Khethil,
There is either one type for all people or each person is equal to one type.

Which could mean there is none of you, none of them, one of you, one of them, all of you, all of them.

@platorepublic,
actually, there are three types of people in the world: those who can count, and those who cant.

Is it just cant or is not also wont?

Curiously I got that one straight away.

There are those who are funny and those who tell jokes. (Hows that?)
There are those who laugh and those who get jokes (And this?)

i like them both. they are both true. some people who tell jokes are funny, some who are funny tell jokes, but often, funny people aren't telling jokes, and people telling jokes aren't funny.

same with the second sentence/premise/point.

@platorepublic,
If there really were two types, one would be human and the other not... As I said: there are men and women, each two types of people... We are dieocious... We can only be an individual human together, otherwise we are individual men, or individual women...
