I like [x]. I dislike [the opposite of x].
I am content with [x]. I am not content with [the opposite of x].

I see the above attitude so much in my peers. Why can't people be content with what they deem negative as well as what they deem positive?

Some people are content with life, but they fear death.
Some enjoy the food they eat, but don't enjoy going to the bathroom.
Some say they think today was a good day, except for when it rained/snowed
Some don't like winter and prefer summer.
Some seek satisfaction in getting wasted, but are not satisfied with hangovers.

Should one be satisfied with the whole of a thing/all of a thing?

Is dissecting a particular thing healthy? Unhealthy [(un)healthy in relation to one's well being]? Contradictory?

Does content in a whole situation kill opinions/personal likes and dislikes?

@mister kitten,
Yeah, it's like they say: "take the bad with the good". Much easier to be chill about aggravating things if you see how they are connected with something you like a lot. Sometimes your team loses, but if you enjoy watching them win you're better off accepting the losses. The fact that it could go either way is what makes the game interesting in the first place, right?

@mister kitten,
i can see where your coming from, but why cant people dislike parts of something and not others? If you were satisfied with everything all the time, where is the fun in that? I think that maybe being unhappy with certain parts of something, may maximise your satisfaction with the other part. And not particularly caring for the rain on your totally awesome day doesn't mean that you are suddenly dissatisfied with your day as a whole. (at least i would hope not) Anyways, people just like to complain. it makes them feel better, especially complaining to each other.
