I consider death to be dependent on life for the concept to have any meaning, so for it to preexist life is not coherent.
If, as I imagine, you want to know if our self preexists our life, in other words a state of non-life before a state of life, I think one could run into serious difficulties concerning pre-determination or infinite souls if one were to argue for it.
As for me, I take a naturalistic/deterministic view and would say that those things that constitute our self have existed throughout time, but that reductionism takes us beyond any sense of the individual person.
