Discuss and motivate in your reply whether or not there was (a) death before life. You may use all definitions and facts that you like and define death or life as you please as long as you post how you define it

I see life as eternal, therefore there can be no death "before" Life. In fact, there is no death at all, only a return from physical existence to non-physical.

@Refus,
Why, thank you! Ok, does anyone agree with rado or do you have your own conclusion? Would you like to further develop that conclusion, rado?

@Refus,
Circle of existence, chicken/egg...which comes first if there is an afterlife or reincarnation? death-life-death-full circle.
Kind of a moot point, really.
But why would we begin dead? It doesn't make much sense to me to create something that doesn't work, and then restore it later.

@Refus,
We may have come from nothing, but death is suffix not the prefix of living.
This is where I have trouble accepting this theory.
From nothing, I can create something, but from the destruction of something that has yet to exist, I can not create for there is nothing yet to destroy.

@Aristoddler,
Did you just convince yourself of that:confused:

You don't create something from nothing, you create it from that which has that same somethings abscence.

Well, life (Mind) is ultimately non-physical. Non-physical Mind can incarnate in a physical body, into physical life, but it has to return to the non-physical again at some point, and that return means death of the physical body, and physical life. And that's what death really means.

The Biblical term "eternal life" means that your cycle of physical incarnations is over, which means you no longer will experience death (physical death), but remain in the non-physical realm of eternal life.

That's how I see it anyway,

@Refus,
Either that or it is physical, yes. Either way, we are right now, because of something physical, right?

@Refus,
If you are talking about our physical bodies , then of course, life and death exist. But on a soul level it does not exits. Our bodies are merely the dressing of our souls. The soul is eternal and ever evolving. The soul keeps coming back "dressed" in a different body but carries the "memories" of its experience from previous existances.

These are my two cents!

@Refus,
Of course there is life and death but only of the biological body not the spiritual one, not the soul.

@Refus,
So you pretty much agree with my signature under my text?

@Refus,
So far I was refering only to the question on your post, not your signature. You may perceive your physical body to be 'alive' but it is dead so long as the soul is not awakened. It is your choice to awaken it and with the true life - light. Checkout the link in my signature.

Explain your signature and so I can understand what you mean.

@Refus,
Can do that and win happiness. It's not like I don't want everyone to be happy, the question is only, can we? can anyone be happy. Sum it all, what do you get?

@Refus,
I like most of the answers and questions but...

There is no dead, there is no life, there is only One Living Consciousness. He is the Nothing, the Nothing without limit, He is the Limitless Light.

What body do you talk about? The physical, astral, mental, desire, egoic, the Universe? They are all an illusion!

His Thinking brings them about. The Unmovable Mover brings them about. But all is an illusion that does not exist! Only He Is!

@Refus,
There was no silence, there was only happiness of existence. There was bounds in the beginning, not easily broken. Those bounds were happiness, and even after an eternity of eternitys, it will remain, cause the universe is to big to dissapear. The rest is inserted in the signature under this text.

@Refus,
Hi Rufus:

Thanks for clarifying your thoughts. Yes, our perceprtion based on our physical senses depict for us our reality. And yes it is an illusion. Only when we attain the higher sense and elevate our soul to the spiritual can we observe the truth. The gains in this world are of the soul and that is NOT lost. Our so called physical gains are lost but not our spiritual ones. These evolve and bring us closer to the infinit light, to the creator.

Check this link. It says exactly what you are saying.

how could your soul" exist with out your body it was your body which created and formed your personality and "soul" how can this continue to live without that which created it

if anything it is your body that continues to live as it decomposes through time untill the chemicals and energy which were once present in your own body go on to form new life.

That the self is a box of perception that remains unchanged. But this is not true, what we perceived is the bounds (spin, whatever), if the bounds cease to be, so does the happiness ie. pain. So the self is where the bounds are, and it takes 2 particles to be happy. And BTW, i don't read texts with the word soul in them.
