Hello. My name is Ryan.
I am an atheist. I currently doubt that meaning or value or any such philosophical concepts is to be found anywhere except the mind. Even if there was a god who created us for some purpose for hirs(not a typo), I don't see how the purpose would connect from god's to us as to where we should do what god created us for. We'd still be...us. We'd still be doomed to be free...

@Thunder phil,
Hello Ryan.

I tend to drift between strong agnosticism and weak agnosticism. I drift mainly because the nature of god is not known (or a bit rubber at best) and as such do not know if, by definition, god exists in such form that would allow an experience of godself (not a typo Smile)

Welcome!

@Thunder phil,
Hi Ryan,

I'm agnostic atheist with some potential outright rejection.

If the bible is an accurate portrayal of god then I want nothing to do with such a being. If you take the bible as a whole, gods behavior becomes clear. I think many ignore or deny that god would be cruel but it is clearly the case. Weather for good intentions it is still cruelty from my point of view. I would never worship a being who thinks solving a problem of evil is by destroying everything.

@Krumple,
Hey Ryan, I'm The_Dude, and your thread really ties the forum together, man.

I don't believe in God. When I say that, I mean a conscious, breathing, walking, talking God who made humankind in his or her own image. If you redefine God as existing objects, then how can I deny God's existence?

So yeah, to clarify, I don't believe in a "personal" God who thinks about you and loves you.
