@Padawan phil,
Cheers All,
Love the reworking of Blake jgweed.
It was more by accident than design g3org3m. I gave up on Uni after getting into debt during first year. Worked in shearing sheds for a few years, then did some travelling. When I got home a mate said they were looking for blokes, been doing it ever since. Originally I was only planning to do a couple of years and head off travelling again, but when I had the coin saved up to go I decided to think about the future for the first time in my life and built a house instead.
So here I am, mortgage slave, stuck and a little stressed about the downturn that's coming. If I can hold on to my job I should have the place paid off in a few years and will be keen to start my delayed world tour.
As for the work, I've been on some really interesting projects and some incredibly dull ones, but there's always some satisfaction to be gained when you see the final product. Plus the money is always good, sometimes ridiculous. Long hours and hard work have never really bothered me, it can be almost therapeutic at times.
I also think it's help make me a more rounded person. Before I started this work I wasn't very good with my hands. Now I'm confident using tools, except with cars which are still a mystery to me. Working with my weaknesses rather than my strengths has definately been beneficial.
