As this forum is titled for "Introductions only!"

I would like to introduce myself as someone who is looking to make a future purchase for a friend of mine. I have the personality of someone who inherently finds the need to obtain answers from a reputable source. I also find no wrong in joining a forum where I may quickly leave once I have obtained the answer I am looking for. (Example: I do not find the need to build a relationship with a random person just to simply ask them the time.)

Now as I myself have very very little knowledge of philosophy it would be unwise of me to search on my own through the internet looking for an answer to a question of which I would not know whether or not I had found a correct answer. It is as if I were to be again desiring to know the time yet I was relying on myself for an answer. I happened to glance at a clock tower down the street and assumed that it was displaying accurate time but I realized later that it was incorrect. How much better off would I have been then to ask someone who claims to have a watch which is updated every 5 min's by a very accurate clock in... blah blah blah. Now yes there is the chance that this persons claim of having such a watch is false so I would find it better to ask multiple people who claim to have such a watch to greater increase my chances for an accurate answer. I have established that I can not rely on myself so I look to others for an answer. Those whom I choose to look for an answer I am assuming by other variables that they have the merit to back up what they say. By asking many of those people I thus increase my chances of finding what I so desire.

Which is why I find myself resorting to signing up on a forum that has more knowledge then I on the topic at hand spread out through various opinionated minds. My hopes are that they will not ignore me as my post may not exactly be the type of introduction they were looking for. Yet there was no concrete definition of what the word "Introductions" was referring to so can I be held accountable for doing something wrong?

Anyway on to what I wanted to start off with but chose not to in worry of criticism.

I have a friend who is finishing his Bachelors in Philosophy. He drinks coffee all the time and I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites I could buy him a mug that has something comical written on it that only he would understand. Like some deep philosophical humor or w/e idk.

Oooohhh fancy Smilies, gotta try a few. :poke-eye: :brickwall: Laughing

@divide the line,
Welcome.

As to your main question (quite the preamble there leading up to a question on coffee mugs!), here are a couple:

I'm Nietzsche, Bietzsche! Mug from Zazzle.com

I Am Confused Mug from Zazzle.com

@divide the line,
Welcome to the forum. Your introduction was unique and that's more than welcome. You might want to do a search on google for something like you have asked. This forum is not for the linking of products but for the discussion of philosophy and other topics so I hope you'll stick around.

Nice meeting you and welcome to the forum.

@divide the line,
Welcome to the Philosophy forums, even if only briefly---'though I hope not. Have a look here for all sorts of stuff, including mugs:

EpistemeLinks.com Shop: Philosophy on the Internet : CafePress.com

Personally, I might suggest the mug with "Don't argue with me... I have a philosophy degree" on it.
Warm regards,
John

@divide the line,
Thanks for the links guys. Not sure if I could stay around. I am by no means a philosopher.

You don't need to be a philosopher to stay here...I am also by no means a philosopher. You just need a desire to learn. Stick around. Smile
