Im new to these parts and i have a rather noobie question to ask. First a little about myself: Im an aspiring college student that has a thirst for knowledge. I enjoy deep thinking and intellectual conversations. I am majoring in psychology and minoring in philosophy, so of course philosophy of mind is what keeps me up at night.:puzzled: So many questions so little time.

My noobie question is: when am i able to make new threads in other sections?

Thanks for your time and responses.

P.s. i love the variety of smilies. :poke-eye:

@Kielicious,
welcome keilicious!

Be prepared to quench that thirst... like Gatorade or the less popular Poweraid. Philosophy is fun in small doses, so enjoy yourself on the forum.

As to your newbie question, you should be able to post now. I believe you just have to post a few times to activate your permission.

Also,:slap: How hilarious is that!

@Kielicious,

Welcome Kielicious to the forum, make yourself at home and think about what your first post is going to be. You should be able to respond to or start a new topic right after this intro, so go head and try it out. Some people like these little guys and others seem to hate them. At anyrate Kielicious welcome aboard the good ship philosophy forum!! boagie

@boagie,
Hi, Kielicious!

I'm an Anti-Smilie (although I'm strangely fascinated by the "eye-poke" one).
But welcome to the forum! Drink of the strange waters here, but make sure you've had your shots.

Regards,
Tock

@TickTockMan,
Welcome Kielicious and we look forward to seeing your posts. I have to agree with Tick Tock about the smilies, although I do use them sometime. Like so many things, good in moderation....

@Kielicious,
Once you have posted here, the public forums are open to your original posts or a reply to an existing thread. If you need any help with posting or any questions, just ask.
While I avoid Smilies like the plague in my own writing efforts, as long as they are not overused to the point where they interfere with what you are trying to say, I suppose they have their place as a matter of style.
Welcome to the Philforums!
Cheers,
John
