Hi. My buddy pointed me to this sight and it seems like my kinda thing. I hope I can get some good insight from people. Maybie drop some wisdom bombs of my own or offer a perspective. I'm interested in what people know and have experianced. I'm not so much on the abstract dry conceptual thinking that does not apply to the actuall experiance of life. I am interested in peoples profound insights into life. Not the philosophy you just talk about but that in which you live and experiance every day. Be it taking your morning crap to going for a run. It'll be interesting

@Cobra Commander,
hang on a minute ms cobra. philosophy is a discipline. i do accept that in recent times it might have become somehow detached from the practicality of living, particularly in the analytic tradition. nonetheless. philosophy is not about taking "a crap or a run" it is a field of study. It really pisses me off, people confounds philosophy with a study of "what i feel". I mean, if i said i was studying physics, no-one would try to explain me what physics are in accordance to their wimps. Philosophy is a legitimate discipline, and although we all have a "philosophy of life" per se, this should not be misunderstood with the fine art of philosophy.

teeth sharpened, ready to go

regards

@Cobra Commander,
Welcome you both to the forum.

FYI, there are places under the Branches of Philosophy where we can discuss specific branches of Philosophy where it can be strict in the art of Philosophy.

Everyone has a different idea of philosophy, especially those who haven't actually studied it in a formal institution.

Thank you both for your posts and we look forward to hearing more from both of you.

@Cobra Commander,
Hi all, I'm in the process of looking for a new forum to join. Somewhere people share ideas, thoughts...maybe this is the place.

@Cobra Commander,
Finally.

A place where people can speak their minds, and their opinions debated instead of stomped on.

After reading T-T-T's entire thread, I began to understand what he was talking about. Not agreeing with him, but understanding what he was saying about people speaking drivel.
The greatest philosophers were mostly cripples, true.
They were also told that they were speaking drivel.
Therefore, by T-T-T's own direction: This site is full of wonderful minds, and I look forward to many well brought debates and new ideas.

Thanks for listening.
