Hi everyone, thanks for inventing this forum!
I'm currently an Arts student studying Philosophy and Psychology majors, with the aim of eventually doing honours in Psychology and persuing a psychology career. My favourite philosophy subjects are Philosophy of Mind (which is very big in Australia at the moment) ... (oh sorry, yeah im from Australia!), Descartes and the other Continental Philsophers, particularly Leibniz and to a lesser extent Spinoza and Malbranche. I've liked existentialism when i touched on it, and im about to start a course on the German philosophers, following from Leibniz, Kant, to Neitszche.
I'm also about to start a course Phil of Modern Physics, which will look at quantum mechanics, through a study of its central paradoxes: the EPR situation, Schrodinger's Cat, Wave-Particle duality, etc. Sounds interesting, can't wait.
I apologise in advance if i come across a bit blunt sometimes, but rest assured i never EVER mean any harm and i very rarely lose my temper, so feel free to rip into any shred of reality i've tried to build around myself.
@dominant monad,
Pleased to make your acquaintance.
@dominant monad,
Welcome Dominant_monad and thank you for taking the time out to introduce yourself. There are actually quite a few people here from Australia and it seems that you all are into philosophy quite a bit. Glad to hear it. I actually have a visitor from Australia staying here with us in the states for the next couple months who is very into philosophy and science and has also authored two books. Be on the look-out as I've taught him to use the video cam to upload his own thoughts to youtube so we'll post some of those in a new thread.
Nice meeting you and please do make yourself at home. We'll get you connected with
Richard Grant.
@dominant monad,
