What is the process of moral's formation?

I would wonder then... From what I have seen in all of the above posts, would our moral basis be formed over an animal instinct because of our ability to remember on a conscious level?

In most animals, memory serves as an instinct. The last time I did this, it hurt. It really has nothing to do with a precise recolection of the events, just a connection between action and negative consequences. Humans, on the other hand, have an ability to recall information clearly and recall the emotional reaction, physical results, short and long term consequences and long term effects. We form much more complex forms of memory links in conjunction with our actions. it would stand to say that, by nature, we would need to regulate our actions according to the results, like animals, but in a more complex way.
