@platorepublic,
1. Go to school, work, then go home.
2. It means that too much is expected of the government and more should be expected of society. My quote is also relevant; luck divides people, misfortune brings them together. There isn't enough misfortune for anyone to support globalization yet.
3. Reading on the porch.
4. The country my forefathers were forced out of.
5. Same as #3.
6. Nothing yet.

@platorepublic,
It's interesting how for the first question, everybody replied either student or some indirect answers, which makes me think what do modern philosophers do for a living, i.e. what jobs do they have (unless you are all well endowed, allowing you the luxury to do philosophy, or the other way round, you have reached a peak in philosophy allowing you to survive without making money).

E.g. what kind of job would Plato take in these 'modern' times. Politician? University professor?

@platorepublic,
Or people are rebelling against the notion that our job defines us. Among people who claim to think deeply, I don't think it should be surprising that people answered the question, non-traditionally. I make earn enough to support me and mine by grunt level work at Microsoft, and contracts and grants from or for Native American governmental orgsanizations for endangered language research, revitalization, and management.

The jobs only define us if you let it be.

Now that you said please, it does merit an answer and thank you for asking.

1. What do you do for a living?

As if a person can only do one thing, my thing would be communicating with other people to help them live better.

2. What does globalization mean to you?

A collective sharing positively.

3. What makes you happy?

Other people smiling.

4. Which country would you like to visit?

All

5. How do you spend your leisure time?

All of my time is leisure time. I don't sweat it. What I expend is equal to that energy I take in if that is what you mean by "spend"?

6. What do you expect for your future?

Better, never more, as I resourcefully wish. :a-ok:

What if you are a ward or retired?
That's not doing something for a living.

Maybe you are right - those who are retired may have more time for typing on a keyboard.

I didn't know people retire. Who would want to retire? But that would be saved for another thread perhaps.
