I are not what most people would call the brightest bulb on the christmas tree and have had some bad experiences with trolls in the past.

I guess you could say I am developing a new type of social anxiety with internet forums.

:rolleyes: Surprised

@lazymon,
There is quite a bit of troll-esque behavior on the forum. Most of it however can be explained as people who are passionate about a topic forgetting that other people have valid opinions as well. Some areas tend to have outright trollage, and/or people venting anger (religion, politics, ethics). In those areas it is almost impossible to avoid seemingly unprovoked vitriol, as those areas have the most relativity in their axiology and the highest level of ideological personal attachment. So don't take anything personally, call people on their B.S., but don't press it if the response is irrational, you'll be fine. In these cases often even personal attacks are not directed at you as person but at a generalized, although often unwarranted, stereotype in which your opinion may fit.

@lazymon,
It is one thing to engage in lively discussions and entirely another to use them as an excuse for personal attacks, trolling or flaming. While every forum has its botched and bungled, the majority of this community is as welcoming as it is considerate, and your anxiety hopefully will disappear as you get to know everyone.

As in any forum, the best advice is to have shoulders broad enough to ignore untoward comments and those that feed upon them.

@jgweed,
Are you anxious around flesh and blood?
If not then i would say you dont trust your writting form.
It is NOT all about content.
Is also about vehicle.

My true defence mechanism is in my very form of expression.
I cloth myself in an overabundance of language so as not to be naked.
Language is my armour.

I would say you just need to trust yourself a little more.
You have as much right if not a little more to be present.

It is always sad when we meet sour people, dont let the taste ruin your dinner.

I fear silence more than an attack.

Which is to say also that i then will no longer have anything to speak.

All else fails cultivate a warped sense of humour to combat your fears.

Try to make the sour laugh or smile a little.
At least you will know you have tried.

Try not to judge your own strength by others weaknesses.

@lazymon,
Yes some fashions are impractical and does not keep the flesh warm at all.

At least a stupid poet is still a poet.

I would say you are scantily-clad not naked.

@lazymon,
Could this be that I am too open. I suppose that would expose me in many ways.
