Imo the coming of androids are inevitable, it will be a huge resource for man, aiding him in his structure of society.
They may stand above our greed, selfness, foolishness, naivity, comradery ..etc and thereby pose a valuable objective and neutral govening, judgeing and enforcing value.

As they can have uniform and deeper knowledge, they can raise infant humans much better than us, who are forgetful, stressed and influenced by personal views and supersticion.

They may work 24/7 when most western people, will work max ~8 hour/day, demand this and that, and can't easily be replaced if doing difficult complex work. An android may transfer it's gained knowledge in mere min should it be replaced for maintaince.

The Pitfalls

Androids may be prone to goverment spionage, such as CIA will most likely be all over the android market.

Their programming may be victim to virus and faulty programming, bugs will haunt the AI for centuries.

The Doomsday Scenario

Androids MUST come with an inherent inferior factor, else they may end up considering humans as a pest, inferior being that has a frail mind, that is selfcenterd and whiney.
..that's why it will be dangerous to make them superior to us, and most likely will end up whiping us from the face of the earth.
