You can be prepared the best you can for whatever comes. I think you only know how good you've got it when things go wrong.

How good "who" has "what?" I'm interpreting this as a generalization encapsulating all of humanity. I'm also assuming "it" is human life. I view humanity as a steady, gradual procession towards an ideal. Who's ideal? Who knows? Considering the manifold conflicts of interest, realizing a single exemplar would be impossible. The degree of the ideal is irrelevant, but, in my opinion, if you aren't living a better life, you either see life's perfection, or are living for nothing. Do you know how good we got it? Haha because I sure don't. My only guess would be an opportunity to better ourselves, and to find happiness. That, to me, would be the good we have. What's yours?

Anything that is effected by anything, but the effect is good.
Can we even be effected by good, is it only the bad that we learn from of?
Trying always to atain the good but never having it because we tend to keep trying for something,
and we only really try when things are so bad we have no choice,
not even a choice to give up or choice to give in.

to see good, to know good, to believe good, to look for good, to find good, to give good.
For we are the all that holds and knows there is such a thing as what we benefactorily dub 'good'.
We are the creators of good so why do we find it so hard to find? Of course we could be create dby good, in which case how do we meet with this beginning, how do we meet our history?

Is the ldeal good then? Is the good of it all mere ideal?
Is it the unatestable testament that has not yet been fulfilled because we are not yet it? else we would not know it?
Is the only realsiation of Good is as something that is quite frankly unachievable? because to be it would be to not know it?
Humanity the ever work in progress, the ever unreached, the ever lie if you think you are it?
Better is yet unreached.
But humanity is sure one hell of a journey.

For the taker is always exempt, because it is in only the gift of goodness that it is realised, for what selfish reasons it was given counts for none for it is not the giver who receives.
You said it, 'better' so not just there yet, but still giving it a good old go. You pusher you.

No because to know goodness and more so to live goodness is to always receive perhaps, and never be put in the possition to have to be forced to give back? So good has angles (angels as in degrees), angels that are from something towards something, so goodness comes from somewhere but goes somewhere also. Is good ever reached by giving or by receiving?
To be good means there is no room for bad?
Is it the bad that makes us forget the good or the bad that reminds us good is needed?
So good is action and is reason as well as angel?
Is it bad to be actionless without direction? Without good?
Can bad be directed?

Happiness is because of good? Good gotten or good given? Both i say in answer to your question,
you must be aware of what your needs are through the example of what others ask of you.
And no one should be expected to have to ask for goodness, it should just be an extention of what we are made up of,
you the giver of me,
be it humanity or be it devinity or be it university, we need it and we need to be it.
Whats the alternative?
We need to give our all if we ever dare to expect anything for free for good and for better.

To be full, to be complete, can we ever be ready?
Could even have some thing to do with death, this might be the only preparation we have that is fullproof, the ultimate letting go, giving up, giving back even.
But we are not going to far in to death, unless death is the ultimate and only good there is, which i dont really believe.
Life is trying to be something bigger, better and bolder.
And you can only get all three but adding to your karmic scale and you can only add when alive.
Unless someones not telling me something or how to be as something other than alive and better at this other.
The best i can do is in this life i lead or am led by.
Does good lead or must we lead good?
Can we be really happy and ever know it?
Can we ever be something that to know that there is goodness one must not fully be that complete ideal?
To know there is good to be done is to know where there is none.
This is not good and if done right it is not to be happy either.
We really should measure our happiness by an entire world and billions of universes that either have it so we can be happy free and wholely good, or to know that they do not have and we should deny ourselves until each and every universe is happy as well.
Goodness is what leads to happiness.
How do make people want to be happy?
But what leads to goodness but knowing that badness is not the right pair of shoes?
I'm falling off a bit here so will just say,
How can we know there is best unless we are living the worst,
Because i am not the best i am,
i am just trying to be better.
Trying to be good and allowing for it,
sadly learning not to expect it from others.
But what sort of a giver would i be if i expected it back?
