LULZ! Further proof that God hates the Democrats.

I can only imagine God sitting in Heaven, looking down on earth, spotting America...and doing a double take, saying "Oh...no....you....DIDN'T!"

Anyways, who else is taking this as a sign from Heaven that God really does hate the Democrats?

I know I am! :Glasses:

@Bonaventurian,
Please tell me you are joking. You cannot possibly think that Ted Kennedy having a seizure today had to do with God--much less God's hatred for Democrats. I would have to say that brain tumor of his is more likely the reason...

@Bonaventurian,
I just thought that it was ironic (hilariously so) that it happened on the day of Obama's Inauguration. I think one other politician (also a Democrat?) had some sort of health problem today.

Was it probably by God's providence? I have no idea.

I sure do like to think so, though. >_>

@Bonaventurian,
Having the presidency, majorities in both houses, and majorities in the national governorships is something that Ted Kennedy would probably be glad to have a seizure in exchange for.

I'm proud to say, by the way, that I voted for Ted Kennedy in 2004 when he was up for reelection last time. I wonder what God has in store for me.

@Bonaventurian,
They must have forgotten to pass that memo around last time I went to Temple.

@Bonaventurian,
Plato's Republic, book 1, 330d-331a...Cephalus speaking wrote:
But you can take my word for it, Socrates, that when you are confronted by the thought of your own death, you are visited by fear and anxiety about things which never troubled you before. The stories told about what happens in Hades, that anyone who is unjust here will have to pay for it there -stories you once laughed at- begin to trouble your mind. You wonder if they may be true. You start seeing that world for yourself, either through the infirmity of old age, or because you are already in some way closer to it. Suddenly you are full of suspicion and fear; you start calculating and considering whether you've done anyone any sort of injustice. And if you find many acts of injustice in your own life, you keep waking in a panic in the middle of the night, the way children do. You live in a state of apprehension.

@Bonaventurian,
Dostoyevsky: "Anyone who can appease a man's conscience can take his freedom away from him."

Sartre: "Hell is other people."

@Aedes,
If God did strike down Ted Kennedy, then God is most certainly the demiurge.

@Bonaventurian,
DT, I can't really say much about the state of Ted Kennedy's soul (I don't know), but he's shown himself both to be a politician who espouses "all sorts of ungodliness" in his policies (like the rest of the Democrats)...and just an overall rotten human being who should probably be sitting in prison right now.

@Bonaventurian,
Considering his legislative accomplishments alone, I think he has done more for others than anyone else on this forum. Is he perfect? No. But I recall a wise man saying something about casting stones... I think the lesson might apply.

From increasing the minimum wage, twice, protecting health care rights of workers, overriding Reagan's veto of economic sanctions against the Apartheid, promoting cancer research, women's rights, and fighting against immigration discrimination, I'd say Teddy has done a great deal for other people.

@Didymos Thomas,
His work on health care and on civil rights is historic.

A shame he couldn't be a better leader, like George W. Bush, right?

@Bonaventurian,
Personally, I think he had a seizure because he realized that Obama was Black...

Joking...

But in all seriouness, this is the sort of religious, ignorant, banter that has echoed throughout history. Like the Hamas saying that it is holy to make and launch rockets at Israel.

Have you ever seen the movie "Kingdom of Heaven"... GOD WILLS IT!!!

Man wills it. God (if he exists) has had a hands off approach since he gifted us with free will. This is because influencing us would have been a betrayal of his gift.
