how do you think this will relate to international reltions in any aspect of the future
Sammy,
What I am about to say will not comfort you for the powers that be will not hear of it. It is where they get there power. We need to develop global economic system not based of on any "object" such as rubies, gold, oil, rocks. Of course in the past we had not choice but to use "rarity" as a standard for which we "found" value. In a growing population, that is absolutely insane. We have the technology to end the gross inequities currently rampant in the world by establishing, for instance, an international identification card for individuals, citiies, states and nations that will allow the fair attainment of those resources needed to surive on this planet. No one should have to "pay" to live here. Period. We just need to keep track of of resources, including our most abundant resource, People. Our technology as almost destroyed that most valuable resource. All to "make more money" to get more power. This system is failing miserably and it should. It is assinine. But those who have the most of it will not abide quietly. It is the only way we as Earthlings will survive.
An Identification card with absolutely worthless credits loaded into them that would allow the acquistion of all anyone needs to have a fulfilling life. Countries would be able to cooperate as we begin to share the Earth's resources not limited to those "economic inviability restrictions" that have limited us in the past to use the technology we do have in a most efficient manner. In all cases we have run into economic road blocks that keep us from doing the right thing.
This would eliminate "objective value" used as a tool to coerce, manipulate, bribe, dupe is such a way as it has been in the past. Materialism would be the reward we would "pay" for services rendered. Not money, but what money could buy would be the incentative for offering one's talents, skills, knowledge and labor for the betterment of all. It has to be a global effort, but controlled by a global consortium from all walks of life insuring the fair and equal distribution of such "credits". No human being should have to suffer because he does not have what the status quo requires to continue such a folly of madness. We need to bring labor back and allow each an every individual the opportunity to offer what they can that will insure their own self worth and purpose in life.
Man is not greedy, power is. For it is greed that supports that power. We do have the technology to implement such a program and the collective knowledge to make such a program work.
This is but an extremely "rough" scenario, but it is an idea that should be considered. The present system is a very, very DEAD END STREET.
