Hi. I am 33 years old and am in Ohio. Throughout most of the time that I have existed (all of it, if you count sleep), I was thinking. Though most of it was insignificant, this thinking has led to many notions in my life - most of which were rubbish, and even more having been forgotten.
I am not discouraged, however; I am just beginning to embrace an uncertainty that unobstinately seeks fresh knowledge*
In any case, it is probably best that many of these notions have come and passed before I came across these forums. Anticipating some good reading and participation...
Regards.

Thinking is what people do with knowledge, and without knowledge or with faulty knowledge thoughts are worthless... As they used to say of computers: GIGO... Garbage in, Garbage out...

I own a ton of books and i have given some, tossed some, lost some and loaned some and never got them back... I regret their loss, because some of it is irreplacible to me... You need the facts or it does not matter how fast or accuarate your thoughts are... We stand on the shoulders of Giants, and see but a little further with good fortune...Stand on good knowledge; and welcome

@Fido,
Thanks for the replies! I failed to mention (and it probably bears mentioning) that I have no education in philosophy. It is something I started getting in to from the "general discussion" forum of a physics board - physics being also something that I don't know much about. :ashamed:
Oh well. Can't afford college, so to the internet I go. Smile

Education you can get; but insight is rare, and cannot be taught.

@thack45,
Not having a formal education in philosophy does not necessarily prevent one from thinking and writing in a clear and cogent manner.
Welcome to Philforum!

Though I wish that I could more clearly write what I think - or verbalize how I see things in my mind that aren't necessarily even words, it does help me to remember that there was thought before there was university. Thanks jgweed. Smile

People were clearly rational before the first rule of logic was advanced... Wish was an old Norse God... Don't let yourself grow old wishing your life away.. Think of what you want to say, and say it as clearly as possible... I wish to say little so I seldom start a thread; but I can see when what I read conflicts with what I think I know... Or maybe I am just disagreeable...
