Hi Everyone
My name is Abe and I just joined this forum.
I am quite immersed in Nietzsche, especially his method of evaluating values as a function of usefullness for life, and not purely of their truth value. End of history, the last man and Nihlism are pivotal philosophical issues in the modern age. Any other Nietzsche fans in the house?

@Abraxas,
Welcome to the Philosophy Forum Abe!

I'm not very familiar with Nietzsche so I cannot contribute much there however, maybe he's one to be added to the Philosophers section of the forum. Does anyone else second that?

Feel free Abe, to explore the forum and contribute when ready.

@Justin,
It would be great to add to the philosophers list and maybe have sections within it that explained basic(or not so basic) aspects to philosophy such as 'eastern approaches' or 'traditions of Western thought' and basiclly the types of things a person should be aware of (terms, key words, how to think philosophicly) to aid them to better contribute.

In a sense it would be like a guide or help manual. It would help me when I read a post and cant understand the meaning. People could be invited to include and expand the information. Though to keep it acreate it would have to be reviewed, by another knowledgable person. Yes I could go to the internet for this, but why not have our own store of information here?

@Abraxas,
The more the merrier.

There is also this thread to note: Nihilism

And by the way this

is a good place to find brief descriptions of some of our predecessors.

@Abraxas,
Nietzche is most commonly referred to in texts pertaining to laws of physics, as a wiseman of his time.
Especially in Einstein's big book of cliches. (Theory of relativity...every white-trash male claims to know it, which bugs me somewhat)

Welcome to the site, Abe.

@Abraxas,
Well, I've shut down the Philosophers forum to organize that portion before we start posting. Please read the announcement! Abe, we'll run poll once the Philosophers forum is back up and add him to the list.

Once again, welcome to this new forum and please be patient as it unfolds.
