Point well taken Fido. I grew up in a highly conservative Catholic town, but I had always been disenchanted with many of their core ideological beliefs. I'm about as anti-Kansan as one can be. Upon reading Mill's On Liberty it really solidified my liberal outlook on all things, not to mention that Richard Dawkins is probably one of my favorite authors. But I'll stop digressing about my hometown, and just say thank you for the welcome and I hope to have future dialogues with you.

I was raised Catholic, but I am sort of boycotting them since the made a hitler youth into a pope... Still make the sign of the cross before leaving the house... Know why??? To make sure I have everything: Spectacles, testicles, watch, and wallet... All there??? I can leave now...

This forum provides both a place in which intelligent conversations may (potentially if not always actually) take place at various levels of philosophical understanding and ability, and as well a place where you can improve your philosophical abilities by articulating positions and arguments or just by asking questions.
