I am.
The notmike has come to question the philosophy of mind and, if he is greeted with suitable answers and discourse which is pleasing to him, the notmike will remain in this region until he becomes displeased.

Actually, I'm just a sorry ass college student. I have trouble with big words... I'm not talking postulate or conjecture, but when we start talking contra-causal free will being repudiated (I know that one) through some strong proof of agent causality, immaterial substances relating to brains (organ) and yeah... I start getting distracted and confused.
Anywho, I was working on a paper for a few weeks and my prof tells me my topic is bullshit start over. So, now I have one week to write a paper on the existence or non-existence of a soul... and I'm here, along with reading the **** out of some books, trying to get a strong thesis and arguments against it. I figure its easier to prove consciousness as a biological byproduct than to try to postulate some pan-psychic babblewithbullshit.
I need serious help. Hope I'll be able to find some here.

@notmike,
Hello there and welcome to the Philosophy Forum. Feel free to start a thread and pose a question. There may also be members with expertise on the subject who would be willing to discuss.
@notmike,
"Soul" might not be synonymous with "consciousness." Before even beginning your writing, it might be best to articulate for yourself exactly what kind of existence you wish to prove; the definition will probably make the proof much easier.
Welcome to Philforum!

@notmike,
If you always refer to your self in the tird person people may begin to think you stink.
@Fido,
notmike refuses to entertain this drivel.

To each notmike his drivel is what I always say... Find the drivel of your desire and deviate not from it, Oh notmike...
@notmike,
Wise words... from a wise man.
