it is the greeting of one muslim to another, arabic language 'peace be on you'

the arabic would be recognized by muslims as a greeting the world over...

my saying 'welcome' was meant as a welcome to philosophyforum to pinfall and later to you also, since i never did officially welcome you here.

Some people say "Shalom", it's the same. People like the muslim formula I think because the person to whom it is said replies the other way round, which creates instantly a feeling of co-operation.
