Hope i am in the right place for new members. I am just saying hello and be gentle on me. i got into philosophy accidently last year following a famous quote that was the subject of a pub quiz question.

the quote was "i think, therefore i am" Descartes 1644

It's odd that one "innocent" phrase can be so effective and meaningful to one's subsequent life; now, thanks to Descartes and a pub quiz, you have become interested in philosophy. I think you will find that the interest cannot be easily satisfied, even here at Philforum.
