I am the father of a debater who, this year, is doing Lincoln Douglas style. It falls on the parents to do the coaching, and since I have no experience, I will be needing some help with formal logic. I hope you all can put up with an untrained questioner!
@sandor,
Welcome Sandor! We have some experienced debaters and a some real good logicians in here so don't hesitate to ask questions or get involved.
@sandor,
Just as important as formal logic is to be able to recognise (and avoid) informal fallacies, and to understand how to form an argument for or against a proposition. I am certain that our Members will want to help you as you go through the processes.
Welcome to Philforum!
Regards,
John
