Digitizing Videos
Hi there,

Would it be possible for someone to post some information on MovingOn about who to send videos to for digitizing? There have been a lot of TV and news shows about the Family over the years and most of the people featured in them have analog copies of the videos. Getting these all digitized and put online is one of those millions of projects I have never gotten around to. I'm very glad to see it being done.

Do you folks have enough server space to host them all?

I don't have time to digitize myself, but if nobody else can do so I can have it done professionally.

As to server space, I can buy an additional server if needed.

I did the digitizing for the three videos we put online today. I can convert analog to AVI, then to .wmv or .rm files for streaming. I'll send you an email on how to get tapes to me. If the site owners are willing to keep up with the disk consumption and bandwidth requirements, I'm happy to take the time to get these programs online.

I have both the time (within limits) and resources for digitizing these.

Any analog videos can be sent to me. I can be contacted through my profile here and will email my mailing address to those who need it.

Eventually, it would be awesome to digitally archive the video library that Sam has (minus any illegal footage, of course). I'd be willing to work on this over an extented period of time if Sam agrees to it.

I do not currently have the equipment to convert from analog to digital video, but I'd be willing to contribute on a monthly basis towards the costs of an additional server for video / media.

WalkerJ or Joe, would one or both of you be able to post a place to send video on MovingOn? IMO, 'twas an excellent idea.
