I noticed whilst reading Miguel Diez's Book "Boga Mar Adentro" (Rowing on the inner sea) that many of the justifications for the communal life style of the Remar cult are very similar to those of the CoG/Family.
Miguel Diez founded remar:

there is a link for various language versions of this site.
I notice that they claim to have helped thousands of UK youths to get off drugs.
I have known this group here in UK for a number of years now and can state that most of their members here, and "kids on rehab", are not British but mainly Spanish or Portuguese (quite often unable to speak English).
This type of exaggeration reminds me of CoG!
Their "work" here seems to be largely based around their second-hand stores that are very successful and earn thousands of pounds for the Organisation--the money is then sent to switzerland to their Swiss bank account. The majority of the ordinary members work many hours, on a voluntary basis, and are pressured into remaining in the organisation! Often they are told about the disaster that has befallen those that have left.
Remind you of any other group?
In fact i became suspicious that he may have had some form of contact with CoG in his life.
