RISE International, a new international non-profit organization which has been set up to help protect children from abuse in cults, will show the 2006 British documentary film Cult Killer that chronicles the life and death of Rick Rodriguez and the history of The Children of God.

‘A Dark Look into the Children of God Cult’ is a fundraiser for RISE International and will also feature a short talk by Juliana Buhring, the best selling author of Not Without My Sister, a memoir of her growing up in, surviving and escaping the Children of God.

Acclaimed San Francisco Chronicle journalist Don Lattin will also speak about his recently released book, Jesus Freaks - Murder and Madness on the Evangelical Edge, about the murder-suicide and the history of the Children of God in Arizona, California and Texas.

Both books will be available for purchase and signing by the authors.

‘A Dark Look into the Children of God Cult’ film night and book signing will take place from 5pm until 7pm, on the 11th of November at the Screening Room, 127 E Congress St. Tucson, Arizona

$20 advance tickets may be purchased here. Tickets will also be available at the door for a $25 donation.
