Post-modern / Structuralist interpretations applied to COG?
This is one of those strange questions, and coming from someone never associated w/ COG (but having researched and written about them over the years)... here it is.

Have any X-family folk gotten involved in "emergent" or "emerging" Christianity, and was it helpful in "deconstructing" their COG experience?

Or, and not necessarily related to the above: Has anyone found in post-modern / structuralist critiques of "metanarrative" any help in processing their time in the Family?

This comes from someone who is part of an intentional community (Jesus People USA Evangelical Covenant Church) and also someone in reaction to the Christian Right (see my bluechristian.com).

I suspect post-modernism's critique of metanarratives could hugely affect one's understanding of a group such as the COG/Family. If this is silly or pointless... nevermind.

And thanks.

Jon Trott
The above poster, Jon Trott, is a 30+ year member of the JPUSA cult.
More info on them can be found at http://www.exjpusahelp.com .
His sole presence here is to do spin and damage control for JPUSA since one of the first threads on this site to mention JPUSA included a post by an ex-JPUSA who stated that their own child was sexually molested while at JPUSA.
Like Berg, Trott is OBSESSED with sex, as is evident on his blog entry "Mutuality in Bed" ( dated around Sept. 6, '07 ) at http://bluechristian.blogspot.com .
His posts and presence are best ignored.

Mark's cut-and-paste post aside, I really would like to know if anyone else here has anything to add...

My hope being that post-modernism / emergent/emerging Christianity might be an avenue of healing...

Thanks.
