School Prayers
New School Prayer
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>> This one is different from any of the others I have
seen. It
>>>is neat...and an eye opener!
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>> Now I sit me down in school
>>> Where praying is against the rule
>>> For this great nation under God
>>> Finds mention of Him very odd.
>>>
>>>
>>> If Scripture now the class recites,
>>> It violates the Bill of Rights.
>>> And anytime my head I bow
>>> Becomes a Federal matter now.
>>>
>>> Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
>>> That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
>>> The law is specific, the law is precise.
>>> Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>> For praying in a public hall
>>> Might offend someone with no faith at all
>>> In silence alone we must meditate,
>>> God's name is prohibited by the state.
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>> We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
>>> And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
>>> They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
>>> To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
>>>
>>> We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
>>> And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
>>> It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
>>> We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
>>>
>>> We can get our condoms and birth controls,
>>> Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
>>> But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
>>> No word of God must reach this crowd.
>>>
>>>
>>> It's scary here I must confess,
>>> When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
>>> So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
>>> Should I be shot; My soul please take!
>>> Amen
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>>
>>> If you aren't ashamed to do this, please pass this on.
>>> Jesus said, " If you are ashamed of me," I will be
ashamed
>>> of you before my Father."
>>>
>>> Not ashamed. Passing this on

I love the content of your posting, just don't know where this fits in with TF related issues.

British spelling preferred and used. I only understand the Système International d'Unités.

Just wondering.

Prayer....continued...
First of all, thanks Evanman... 'tis however TF related... as I was once a member and it was my 'undying' faith in Jesus that brought me out... by the 'hand of God'... and... is not just 'spam'... s'pose is in the eye of the beholder... Any way, thought I'd 'contribute' as I have been reading this site for about a month...and with the present time we live in... we all need a reminder to remember what it is we are really here for.

Speak for yourself. I am most certainly NOT here for your god.

PS: It stills fits my definition of spam (i.e. "witnessing" = spam in my book)

Hi Mile,

Not knowing your background Iwasn't sure.

This forum is not meant to be religious/christian/spiritual. You will find people that agree with you, and those that don't.

It is worth remembering that not evryone that leaves a cult (whether TF/CoG, Moonies, Divine Light, Krishna Con., etc) will leave having Christian beliefs. I remember attending a meeting years ago by a group that thought that as they'd read a book that meant they were eqipped to help ex-cult members. What really got me amused was when the nun (catholic sister actually) piped up, "We will, of course, be starting each meeting with prayers?"

I appreciate where you're coming from.

Take care.

There are those, like myself, who consider themselves Christian, and who also firmly believe in the separation of Church and State, and do not consider the doctrine of the union of the two to be inherently "Christian".
