can you please clarify something about archived material
Hello
I just wanted to check something before referring other people to your site
I'm studying a cult that has many similarities to COG, lots of differences too.
I wanted to show some of the ex cult members that they are not alone in what they experienced and to put their abuse into context.
I specifically wanted to ask whether or not your archived material contains photos or film of anything illegal, simply because I don't want such images on my computer and also do not want to refer anyone to a site where they might discover such images or film.
I have seen some sexually explicit drawings of adults in archives on the www re flirty fishing and that stuff is fine and valuable as it has some parallels with the other cult who produce similar images.
I do not want to click on a link and discover any film / photo or even drawing of child abuse and I don't want to see films or photos of women being abused.
I was about to refer people here when I clicked on a link and it turned up a page with a warning about explicit material, but there was none on that page so I just wasn't sure of the explicit material warning related to written accounts.
It would be really helpful to have some clarification.
Thanks
Re: can you please clarify something about archived material
Some of the material in the xFamily.org archive constitutes evidence of criminal acts (including child sexual abuse) but we have been very careful to exclude or edit out anything that is itself illegal (according to U.S. law) and we also generally excluded any pornographic material (whether legal or not). For example, in 1981, Music with Meaning produced a pornography video titled "Glorify God in the Dance" featuring performances by both adults and children. The only parts of it that are in our online archive are the credits and carefully edited excerpts that have appeared in broadcast television news stories and documentary. Similarly we have archived the "Story of Davidito" book which contains both photographs and written accounts documenting in explicit detail the sexual abuse of Rick Rodriguez by his mother Karen Zerby and other adults including Sara Kelley and Angela Smith. However, we have edited and blurred out some parts of some of the photographs in the Story of Davidito so that this important piece of evidence can legally be included in our archive. There is a lot of other material that will never under any circumstances be included in any public or online archive but has been preserved for the primary purpose of making sure it is available to help survivors of child sexual abuse get justice for the crimes committed against them by adult Family members.
While you won't find any illegal material in the archive, some of it is sexually explicit, offensive, disturbing or otherwise objectionable and thus we have tried to include disclaimers where appropriate.

Sorry to butt in, but I'm having problems registering again after I moved. What ever happened to Jules? Patrick

Thank you for your very detailed and thorough response.
It is most helpful and I appreciate you taking the time to write it.

Hi. I am curious about this "similar cult". Is the name of this cult something you are willing to share, or would you rather keep it private?
