Burn out
As graduate nurses did you experience periods of burnout? If so how did you overcome the situation?
burnout
Not sure what you mean by graduate nurse? Do you mean out of school and working? If so, I have been an ER nurse 11 years. 2 1/2 years ago I was really burned out and had a part-time jewelry business, so I quit my job and did craft shows for a year, made and sold jewelry. Was a great stress reducer (didn't make much $$ though!). A year later I'm back working in the ER... much less stressed out, not in burnout mode anymore. You know you're burned out when you ask the mom on medicaid who brings her kid in for fever, "what, never heard of Tylenol?"
LOL. That was my wake up call!

Yes I am talking about a nurse strait out of school and working. Thank you for your input.
I was burned out with nursing school and anything related to nursing school. Once I got my job I went and took a welding course to because I like to learn, it was something I had never done and a great distraction.
