continuing education
I would like some feedback on graduating RN nurses who continue on in their education. Do you feel it is better to continue nonstop or take time off to work full time as a nurse gaining floor experience?

I graduated two years age with my BSN and waited 3 months and started my MSN. However, it depends on your age and also whether you need to give yourself a break. It stressful enough starting in a new profession and adjusting to that much less starting back to school in your new job. Take a break and take some time for yourself. I did go immediately into my master because I was 50 when I graduated with my BSN and wanted to keep going to get my MSN. Its been hard and I will finish in May of this year. But my mind is running on fumes. I definitely need some renewal time. So take some time and renew and then if you want to continue your education you will be starting on a full tank of energy.

Thanks David for your input. I too am an older student soon to be graduate RN. I am 45 so I feel the pressure of needing to get where I want to be in a relatively short time. I completely relate to the feeling of "running on fumes" and I don't want to take on something that I might not be able to finish or not do as well as I would have liked. I just know where I want to be Its just figuring out how to get there.
