Hospital gets OK for expansion (The State)


State health officials have approved Providence Hospital Northeast’s $8.6 million, 11-bed expansion, a few weeks after blocking the hospital’s request for many more beds.Providence Northeast’s general acute-care beds will grow to 57 under the approved plan, said Joel Grice, an official with the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control who issues project permits.
