DO YOU THINK I WOULD BE LIVING FROM CHECK TO CHECK? HOW LONG DO U THINK IT WOULD TAKE ME TO SAVE A DEPOSIT FOR A HOUSE THEN?? MAYBE 5 YEARS??? 20 YEARS?
I REALLY WANT A HOUSE ( I LIVE WITH MY PARENTS NOW) BUT FOR NOW I REALLY WANT MY OWN PLACE. I AM SO READY FOR SOME PRIVACY AND STUFF. Rolling Eyes

It is a huge hurdle to grow up. Your fears are the biggest problem. You have to do your accounting homework, make a plan and then make the big jump. It will be free sailing after that. There is generally the option for overtime with nursing if you need it. My first job 30 years ago, I moved from NYC to Richmond, VA. I got paid by the month, and had no idea how to budget my money. The end of the first month I literally ate Taco Bell sauce soup for the last day or two...I was much better at it by the next month I can assure you. A home takes around 10% down. Nurses almost always qualify. You are in excellent shape if all you have is $1000 debt. Establish your credit by opening a few accounts and buying a small amount each month and paying it off. It improves your credit rating. Never pay late on your bills. But if you do, don't be later than 30 days. After that they report you to the credit bureau. DO NOT get used to using credit though. The higher your credit rating, the lower your interest for a mortgage. You will do fine. If need be, get a place near your parents for the first year as a safety net. Very Happy
