July 11, 2005, at Meadows Nursing Home in Bellevue, Tenn. Dorothy lost her five-year long battle with Alzheimer's disease and a later development of cancer. She moved to Tennessee in 2002 near her son, David, when she could no longer live on her own and ultimately required 24-hour assisted care.
