Johnson taken to hospital after hard hit (USA Today)


Jimmie Johnson was taken to the hospital for precautionary evaluation after crashing late in Sunday's Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. Track officials said Johnson was awake and alert. Johnson dropped to second place in Nextel Cup standings behind race winner Tony Stewart.
