sore back
I have been working 12 hrs for precepting for school. In may I will start working even more hours, and I struggle with a sore back. I try to keep my core strengthened. Any other good suggestions, or things I'm not considering as an unexperienced student?
sore back
Having been a nurse for 25 years and having had the bad back for all of that time I can tell you that the MOST important favor you can do for your back is to
REST!!!!!
Even 10 minutes off your feet and lying down will make a large difference in how well your back does. I was raising 6 kids, keeping house and working 12 hour nights. For a while I was pregnant and going to school full time on top of that. You have to get your time off of your feet-horizontal.
Keep up the pilates and cardiac and strength training. Ask any exercise physiologist and they will tell you REST is essential for good back care.
