I've been an RN for 14yrs. I've worked in a"All" areas except MS, L&D and OR. Prior to that, I was an RT for 8yrs. and a SAR Officer for 3. I've worked all over the US, but mostly just CA/NV. Currently, I've returned to Flight Nursing. Love it! I havent' worked the bedside since May and w/ all of the staffing/pt. care issues, similar to Canada's(at least at St. Boniface's/Winnipeg the other night), I DON'T! miss it...

oo somone to talk to
ooo i would love someone to talk to
am a student nurse and sooo frustrated
ask questions they say
so i went in asking questions and got head bitten off pretty quick
have worked in the care world for a while and am well used to the general way carers ignore and allow the abuse to got on
sometimes you meet some wonderful people but 40% should be shot at dawn
there are so many issues
inwardly fizzing to bet told this and that inappropriate while i watch them - you know the learned ones who give us the yay or nay
sit in the nurses station and ignore patient needs
talk loudly about patients in negative way to the world at large
poo poo infection control policies
i alternate between boil and dispair and would love to be able to get it off my chest with someone who understands has been in the business and

I know how you feel and you are just going to have to find coping mechanisims in line with these frustrations. If you don't you will have a very brief nursing career. There are a lot of vulgar vultures out there,the only problem is you can not kill them.
