just a quick hello....
Hello there! first things first. I'm not going to get kicked off this site for being an n/a am I? i hope not. if it makes you feel any better i'm here with a staff nurse! just kidding. if you guys are half as respectful to the auxiliaries as the nurses i have the priveledge to work for are, then i shall enjoy posting up here immensley. im on a night shift at the mo, on a c-diff ward. i dont know how many other trusts chuck all the poor buggers with the dreaded difficile together, but we have strokes, gi bleeds, ortho patients, liver patients, post-op and all sorts to contend with! not bitter though, this job is without a doubt the best i have had. i worked on bars, ran hotels, trained as a stonemason, amongst other things, but within an hour of my first shift, i knew i had wasted my entire adult life, when i could have gone straight from school to this. but i fear i may be rambling(you lot probably should get used to it) sooooo, to my original point- hello to one and all, i hope i shall be very happy here.....

Hello Loudboy!
Let me say from first hand experience that C-Diff is the worst!!
Having been on antibiotics and cared for someone with it, (undiagnosed at the time) it is easy to catch whether you are gowned and gloved or not. The stuff gets airborn and can live on surfaces for quite awhile, including the curtains. NASTY!!

I liked working night shift, mostly the co-workers. A whole different breed than day shift. Listening to cat fights in the morning was no fun.
Sounds like you like your job. We need more like you!! Upbeat, happy and fun to be around. At least you sound like you are. Hope your not too loud though !

Go to nursing school. We need all we can get.
