The nurse title needs to be changed!
I believe that the label "nurse" does not fit with the male nursing image anymore and with more and more males in the nursing field I believe we should come up with a different title. Anyone who watched "meet the parents" know that males are given a hard time for being a nurse. Does anyone have any suggestions?
How is the male nursing image different from the female nursing image? We all do the same job. Has that overall imaged changed, in your opinion?
Nurse title needs to be changed
Just because men are in nursing doesn't mean the profession has changed. Do we change the title doctor because women are in it or a teacher? I am a nurse who happens to be male. I am not a male nurse.
The historic stereotype is that nursing is a female field.
That is true, Scott, but it still is the same job. Isn't it? I don't call my male colleauges "male nurses."
