Hospital, union reach contract deal (Newsday)


After a marathon 11-hour negotiating session that ended at 6 a.m. Monday, nurses and other professionals at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center agreed on a new contract with management and called off plans for a strike next week.
