Benefits?
Do RN's receive free health insurance for them and their family? If not, how does it usually work?

We have to pay for our health insurance just like any other profession.

Yep....we gotta pay just like everybody else....here's something I found a little "funny".....my husband can insure our whole family(4 of us) for less than 1/2 of what I could thru my employer !!
Shocked
So, no....we get no special breaks in that area.

I should be more specific. My husband is a teacher and it would cost us $570 per month to be covered through him. How much are nurses paying for health insurance?

Depends on your employer. For example, I have paid as little as $13.00/pay period (that's just coverage for me). With my current employer, I pay $82.00/pay period (once again, that's just coverage for me). However, it comes out of my pre-tax salary, so I do receive a little bit of a tax break on this coverage.

Most plans will charge about 3-4 times that amount for family coverage.
