Sally Southard, a pediatric nurse practitioner at Carilion's Medical Center for Children, received the 2005 Nora Spencer Hamner Award from the American Lung Association on March 15. The award is given to a person who has demonstrated dedication to preventing lung disease and promoting health in that person's community.
