Should I go for Med/Surg or L/D?
I am graduating in May. I interviewed for 3 jobs and luckily they all offered me the job. Now, I'm confused and I need your help. Should I go for the Med/Surg experience -- PCU or Acute Surgical? Or L&D? Confused

Go for the area that you want to work in.

I am all for the Med/Surg experience because it gives you such a well-rounded overall experience in nursing and you can learn so much about so much! But, what is also important, is your co-workers and how helpful are they?! Some units are better than others in this regard. You can learn this by asking others who work on the unit you are interested in. And what is your heart's desire for work specialty? Who manages these units? Some managers are better than others, and run the units more efficiently which greatly helps your own work!
Good luck!!

Getting Med Surg experience is always beneficial. There are also a couple other factors you need to think about before making your final decision, ex. what type of orientation provided for new nurses; if you decide to take the Med/Surg position, how often are positions available at these other jobs; what are your strong points and what are you interested in. Just take your time to go over the pros and cons of each position. You could always take a part time position in Med Surg after you have completed your orientation to get good Med/Surg skills. Good luck.
