Sasebo City General Hospital in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, submitted a request in May last year to the social insurance office in Nagasaki for an increase in medical treatment reimbursements by allegedly reporting that 173 heart operations had been conducted that year in a cardiovascular surgery department that had just opened in April, it was learned Sunday.
