PHCA: Senator Specter Vote to Stop Medicaid Cuts a Victory


The Pennsylvania Health Care Association today praised Senator Arlen Specter's vote to pass an amendment offered by Senators Gordon Smith and Jeff Bingaman to strip approximately $15 billion in Medicaid cuts from the Senate budget resolution, and said the narrow 52-48 floor vote is a victory for helping preserve gains in Pennsylvania nursing home care quality recently announced by the U.S.
