Pregnant Health Care Workers
Over the past several years we have had an increase in miscarriages with our health care workers. As a health care worker we have all cared for patients with infectious diseases. Our concern is of these infectious diseases what should our pregnant health care workers stay away from. We are trying to develop a hospital policy with specific diseases that a pregnant worker should not take care of. During our research we have found such diseases as cytomegalovirus, parvovirus, and chicken pox. We are asking if anyone has any other information to help us develop this policy.......such as what patients do your pregnant caregivers take care of at your facility and/or what precautions do they take with these specific patients.
